Atlanta Kyte – Osteopath
Atlanta Kyte is a graduate of University College of Osteopathy (formally known as the BSO) and has been a registered Osteopath since 2002. Before
becoming an Osteopath she worked as a cellular pathologist at the university of Cape Town. She was on her way to doing a PHD when she decided to
switch careers, swapping working with cells to working with the dynamic human body.
After graduating with a BSc Hons (Osteopathy) Atlanta worked in Bristol and then London for 11 years. She worked in large multidisciplinary clinics
where she gained experience in treating a huge range of people, athletes, office workers, the elderly, pregnant women, all ages, all shapes
and sizes. Atlanta has worked alongside GPs and medical consultants gaining valuable clinical and diagnostic skills. She worked as an osteopath in a GP practice in Westminster for
many years treating MPs. That was where she honed her diplomatic skills.
Oxford is home to her. She chose to return here to bring up her young family and started working at the Summertown Clinic in 2016.
Atlanta is an experienced practitioner and can treat both acute and long term symptoms. She treats lower back pain, neck pain…. heads, shoulders,
knees and toes, and everything in between. She has a specialist interest in treating the elderly, and pregnant women. She also has experience in treating
and managing work related stresses and strains and can give advice on office ergonomics.
Atlanta uses gentle osteopathic techniques to treat patients, including joint articulation to improve their range of movement, massage and stretching to
encourage relaxation of tight muscles, and joint manipulation to improve function and mobility. She can also use medical acupuncture alongside
osteopathic techniques. Treatment will depend on what is appropriate for the individual and she will always look at the broader picture when
assessing dysfunction and will take into consideration factors such as lifestyle stresses. She will then help you create an individual management plan, with
advice and exercises designed to empower and encourage you. She likes to ‘find the health’ in everybody.
Atlanta was a finalist for Associate Osteopath of the year in 2016 at the annual industry awards and came runner up. Well done, Atlanta!
She works in the clinic on Tuesdays and Fridays so please call our friendly receptionist on 01865 558561 to book an appointment with her.
